Innovative and Enthusiastic

Lesley Ellis School’s history as a lab school for Lesley University is reflected in our openness to innovation and commitment to the professional development of our teachers.

At Lesley Ellis, we recruit outstanding and enthusiastic teachers and invest in them over time. More than 60 percent of our teachers have earned advanced degrees, and most have five or more years of experience in the classroom.

We also use a team approach to teaching—our classrooms have two teachers so that the teachers can get feedback and exchange new ideas and strategies.  They develop new curricula, speak at conferences and are invited to share their expertise with other educators.

Lesley Ellis prides itself on providing a unique, thorough learning environment for students in preschool through eighth grade. Our approach centers not only on facts and skills, but also on fostering a love for learning in every child. Lesley Ellis students love to come to school!

Our task is both simple and complex. It’s simple because the joyful learning, academic challenge, and the appreciation for diversity that characterizes us is easy to convey and shines through in everything we do at Lesley Ellis.  But it’s complex, too, because we work to prepare students to succeed in life -- not just in school. We challenge students with safe risk-taking, project based exploration and learning, and steady transitions to independence. At Lesley Ellis we nurture grit and resilience.
