Senior Explorers

Senior Explorers provides an array of opportunities for campers to participate in games and learn new skills while becoming self-directed and productive members of the group. Each session has four different themes.

8:00 – 9:00 Arrival, choice time.
9:00 – 9:30 Meeting.
9:30 – 12:00 Activities, snack, outdoor time.
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch.
1:00 – 3:45 Activities, snack, outdoor time.

June 14 – 18
Invention Convention
Imaginations gain fuel and creativity soars! Presented with hands-on activities that encourage creative problem-solving skills, teamwork, and innovation. With sparks of originality you will be inventing new games and designing the unthinkable!

Hello Mona Lisa
Say hello to portraiture. In this exploration of the world’s most famous smile, students create their own Davinci stylized “selfies” using paints, photos and collage.

June 21 – 25
Frisbee Festival
What do golf, dodgeball, and tic-tac-toe all have in common? A frisbee of course! Join in the high soaring fun this week as we play games using the ultimate flying disc.

Mad Science
You will have the chance to let your inner mad scientist out as you learn about chemical reactions and complete an array of science projects from slime to magnets to volcanoes!

June 28 – July 2

American Road Trip
What lies out in the big cities and small towns of America? From famous monuments to little known landmarks, we’ll explore some of the places that make America special!

Wacky Water Fun!
We’ve cooked up some wacky water games that will help us cool off. Come beat the summer heat with our arsenal of outdoor soaker games.

July 6 – 9 (4 day week)*
Athletes vs Mathletes
Challenge yourself both physically and mentally as we tackle a week of activities that will test all muscles! Both individual and team building games will be the main events of this week that require both brawn and brain.

3, 2, 1 Blast Off Into Space!
Blast off with us this week as we travel out of this world to explore the stars and planets. Launch a rocket, design a martian colony, try freeze dried food and make it back to earth in time for the weekend. One small step for you and one giant leap for summer!

July 12 – 16

Chess Wizards
Kids will improve their chess skills, meet new friends, and work out their most powerful muscle – their brains!

3D Art Adventure
Whoa! This art will leap off the page! You will enjoy learning ways to create three-dimensional art. Work with a variety of art supplies such as paper, paint, and clay to create 3D masterpieces.

July 19 – 23
Much more than a typical building workshop, ImagArena® combines the spirit of an art program, the materials of a building workshop, and the framework of a video game to provide an experience that engages everyone. Come create with over 30 building materials and learn strategies for overcoming creative blocks and working in teams.

Survival Skills Camp
Let us introduce you to the power and practical value of the natural world. Learn to survive and thrive outdoors. Spend the week exploring, hiking, and learning essential survival skills.

July 26 – July 30

Arts Extravaganza
We will use the great artists of the past to inspire and teach the great artists of the future. Let’s discover the artist within as we study artists, movements, and mediums.

MakerSpace isn’t just about tools and equipment. Come join the excitement and energy around making. Bring your ideas and designs and use your technical and creative skills to make something fun!

August 2 – 6
Toy Workshop
Bring your creativity and imagination as you join our toy-building workshop. Who knows, maybe your design will be the next popular toy!

Orienteering in Our Own Backyard
Let’s venture out for an exciting adventurous sport which involves finding your own way. We will use some of today’s technology along with some good old-fashioned methods to read a map and find a location.

August 9 – 13

Extreme Engineering
How high? How strong? How long? How creative? All questions as we tackle this week of STEM challenges that will test both individual and collaborative efforts of our campers.

Camp IN
Camping never looked so good! From pitching tents to making S’mores, our campers will experience all the fun of camping without the bugs or spending the night.

August 16 – 20
Cranium Craze
This week we will be challenging in the best way with puzzles, games and out-of-the-box thinking.

Farewell to Summer
Summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean our fun is. Come join us as we celebrate all things summer, from sleeping in tents, stories around a campfire, water activities, and enjoying friends made at camp.
