A Program of Schools for Children

Lesley Ellis Library

Margaret Muirhead

The Lesley Ellis School Library program builds students’ curiosity and wonder through engaging, interactive learning and access to high-quality literature and nonfiction resources. Through the weekly classes the library program fosters a love of story and a culture of independent reading. Students also develop information literacy skills beginning from an early age so that they can learn to evaluate sources for reliability, accuracy, authority and relevance. Collaborative inquiry projects and class discussion support students’ ability to share ideas, listen to and respect others, and work together as a community of learners.
