Elementary Auxiliary Program

The Elementary Auxiliary Program, which we call Clubhouse, is designed to be an extension of the school day, providing children the opportunity to relax, explore, and foster friendships outside of their regular classroom. A typical day includes snack time/homework time, outside time, free choice, and a variety of enrichment activities that meet the interests of the students.

ELEMENTARY ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES

Students enrolled in in the Elementary Auxiliary Program must sign up for the enrichment activities at the time of registration. Below is a list and description of the enrichment activities offered each trimester.

Trimester 1 Offerings

Early Morning Drop Off

Early Morning Drop Off is available for all students beginning at 7:30 a.m. each morning. Younger students have the opportunity to play with friends who have also arrived early. The fees are below and sign up and payment is via your online Clubhouse account.

Chess Wizards

Learn lessons and traditional game play with Chess Wizards. They will incorporate variations of chess games that build teamwork and foster a genuine enjoyment of the game.

Tuesday
Buildwave

Want to foster your child’s interest in STEM while igniting their creative spark at the same time? Buildwave is a creative building program that feels like a video game! Over the course of 12 sessions students create with over 50 different building materials, including Lego®, PlusPlus®, and custom-made Buildwave materials. Each session of the program is a new “level” of the Buildwave game, with an audio-visual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves. As your child creates with wave after wave of new objects, they grow in creative confidence, become better collaborators, and encounter design and engineering fundamentals in a unique and memorable context.

Meditation and Dance with The Click

Join The Click for dance and yoga! This session invites students to tap into their own creativity to explore movement through game play and coordination exercises. Participants will also challenge their minds and bodies in new ways with group reflection, mindfulness practice, and yoga poses.

Parkour
3:30 – 4:30 Grades K – 2
4:30 – 5:30 Grades 3 and 4

Jump into the dynamic world of parkour with Parkour Generations Boston! This class is designed to teach students the techniques and ideas of parkour training in a safe and progressive setting, while building their physical strength and developing self-confidence. Students will learn to see the world through “parkour vision,” where the world becomes your playground and learn to embrace obstacles as an opportunity for fun and exploration.

Join us for a longer afternoon of fun and engaging programming planned by our Auxiliary team. The afternoon will consist of more in depth art activities, team building games, and special projects.

Code Ninjas

Come explore different programming concepts and create various games inspired by Breakout, Snake, Flappy Bird, and more using Scratch—a block-based, visual programming environment. Our team will introduce basic game design and programming concepts like loops, functions, and video detection to build unique games.
