Academics
Your Child’s Unique Journey
Academics at Lesley Ellis School are challenging, joyful, and student-centered. From preschool through grade 8, students build strong skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, world language, the arts, physical education, technology, research, and critical thinking.
Teachers use small classes and close relationships to understand how each student learns best. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, solve problems, and make connections across subjects. This approach helps students develop both academic confidence and a deeper sense of purpose as learners.
As a progressive independent school in Arlington, MA, Lesley Ellis balances rigorous skill-building with creativity, collaboration, and social-emotional growth. Students learn not only what to think, but how to think, how to listen, and how to contribute meaningfully to a classroom community.
Early Childhood students learn through play, exploration, and relationships. Elementary students build academic foundations through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Middle School students develop independence, leadership, research skills, and the confidence to thrive in high school and beyond.
