An Independent School of Schools for Children

Community

A DIVERSE AND WELCOMING COMMUNITY

At Lesley Ellis School, a progressive preschool through eighth-grade independent school in Arlington, MA, community is at the heart of everything we do. Within our close-knit school community and small class sizes, every child is known as an individual and valued as an important contributor to the life of the school. Students, families, and educators come together to create a welcoming environment where belonging, kindness, and collaboration shape the daily experience.

The strength of the Lesley Ellis community is built through meaningful partnerships between teachers, administrators, students, and families. Open communication and mutual respect are central to these relationships. As an inclusive Boston-area independent school, we work intentionally to keep families informed and connected. During daily drop-off and pick-up, parents are welcome on campus and often gather informally, building friendships and strengthening the sense of community that defines Lesley Ellis.

Families can feel confident knowing their children are learning and thriving in a safe, supportive environment. At the same time, we believe strong schools are built through ongoing conversation and partnership. If questions or concerns arise, our faculty and administrators are always accessible, just a phone call or email away.

Communication with families happens through several channels designed to keep everyone connected to school life. Our weekly “News & Notes” email shares important updates and highlights from across the school community. Families also stay engaged through our active Facebook and Instagram pages, which regularly feature student learning, events, and celebrations. The school news section of our website offers stories about life at Lesley Ellis, while our online calendar keeps families informed about upcoming programs, performances, and community gatherings.

Together, these connections help sustain the vibrant, supportive community that makes Lesley Ellis School such a special place for students and families alike.

Admission Decision Time!

As admission decisions are being shared across the region, some families may still be exploring the right school fit for the coming year. Lesley Ellis School currently has limited openings for the 2026–2027 school year. We welcome inquiries from families interested in a warm, academically engaging, and inclusive preschool–grade 8 community. Our admission team would be happy to connect and help you learn more about the Lesley Ellis experience.
