Early Childhood Auxiliary Program

The Early Childhood Auxiliary Program, which we call Clubhouse, is designed to be an extension of the school day, providing children the opportunity to relax, explore, and foster friendships outside of their regular classroom. The program features Early Morning Drop Off from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. and afternoon Clubhouse from 3:15 – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and on Fridays, 12:30 –  3:15 or 5:30 p.m. A typical day includes snacks, outside time, and choice time, as well as engaging programs created especially for our youngest students.

Early Morning Drop Off is available for all students beginning at 7:30 a.m. each morning. Younger students have the opportunity to play with friends who have also arrived early. The fees are below and sign up and payment is via your online Clubhouse account.

Puddlestopmers

Come explore nature after school this fall! Discover animals building homes, collecting seeds for a food cache, or preparing for migration. Use nature’s resources to build an animal home for winter. Investigate the different colors of leaves. Use hands-on exploration activities, movement, STEAM-based experiments, crafts, and stories to investigate the natural world. Explorations will be outside in order to discover the wonders of fall!

Art Around Us

Get creative with all things art! Is your child the next Picasso, Keith Haring, or Eric Carle? Each week, students will hear stories about various artists and have an opportunity to create their own artwork through painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and collage. 

Wednesday
Knucklebones

Let’s Play! Knucklebones provides the opportunity to learn new skills and play cooperative games in a creative and fun environment. Each month will focus on a different sport. September will be all about soccer; October will be all things wheels; and November will be basketball skills. 

This weekly program will develop gross motor skills in a fun and engaging way.

STEM Fun!

Join us for  STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities that are designed to encourage curiosity and creativity. Students will have the opportunity to work together to design and build structures of various styles, discover how to make snow dough, examine patterns in nature, and experiment with simple coding using bee-bots. All activities are designed to engage our youngest students as they learn about all things STEM. 

Friday Fun

Join us for a longer afternoon of fun and engaging programming planned by our auxiliary team. The afternoon will consist of outside time, story time, free choice, and special projects carefully designed for our younger students.

Puddlestopmers

Come explore nature after school! Explore active winter animals and discover who is hibernating. Peek inside animal skulls and feel animal fur! Discover animal homes and how they are made! Explore animal tracks in winter and learn winter bird calls. Use hands-on exploration activities, movement and play, crafts, and stories to investigate the natural world. Each lesson is designed to be fun and engaging. Explorations will be outside to discover the wonders of winter.

Tuesday
Mindful Squirrel (Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten)

Through the Mindful Squirrel program, students will learn about mindfulness through stories, movement, nature, art and play. We will learn about our mindful anchors, breath, body, and sounds, to become more aware of ourselves. Students will be given activities to practice at home with their families.

Creative Movement with The Click (Preschool and Prekindergarten)

Join The Click for dance and yoga! This session invites students to jump, stretch, skip, wriggle, roll, and slide into creative movement to boost physical skills and channel energy in a healthy way. Students will also tap into mindfulness exercises to regulate emotions and learn basic yoga poses for a new way to experience movement.

Makerspace Fun!

Grab some cardboard, tape, makers, and your imagination as we turn found objects into treasure! Turn that box into a spaceship, or that cardboard tube into a butterfly. Imagination, creativity, and problem solving all lead to fun as we become makers.

PuddleStompers

Come explore nature after school this spring! Discover worms and other exciting life in the soil. Search for signs of animals and their food sources. LEarn how plants grow and look for rainbows after April showers. Investigate birds building their new nests. Use hands-on exploration activities, active movement, crafts, and stories to investigate the natural world. Each lesson is designed to be fun and engaging. Explorations will be outside to discover the wonders of new life in the spring.
