Running for Lesley Ellis!
Supporting Lesley Ellis Tuition Assistance through the Boston Marathon
Lesley Ellis School has been honored with a charity bib for the 2026 Boston Marathon, made possible through the support of LES parent Matt West. This opportunity was extended to Lesley Ellis faculty and staff, and a random drawing of those who expressed interest in running was held to select the faculty member who would represent Lesley Ellis at the marathon in support of Lesley Ellis Tuition Assistance.
Meet the Runner
Nick Romeo
Hi. My name is Nick and I serve as the Athletic Director, Physical Education teacher, and coach at Lesley Ellis. I’m originally from Salem, MA, and recently completed my master’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas.
Representing Lesley Ellis at the Boston Marathon in support of Tuition Assistance is especially meaningful to me because it allows me to combine my passion for athletics with my commitment to expanding opportunities for our students and families.

A Community Learning Moment
Lesley Ellis students in grades 3–8 heard from guest speaker Dave McGillivray, an accomplished marathoner, author, and longtime leader in the running community. His message of goal-setting, perseverance, and believing in yourself has inspired students and runners around the world.
As part of his visit, each student received a copy of his book, Dream Big, generously provided by Dave.
Families and faculty interested in learning more about his work are welcome to explore Dave’s Dream Big Marathon, a program he created to encourage goal-setting, healthy movement, reading, and acts of kindness.
Follow Nick’s Journey
From training through race day, we will share periodic updates on Nick’s preparation and reflections as he prepares for 26.2 miles.
As race day approaches, members of the LES community are welcome to join us in Boston to cheer Nick on and celebrate this shared effort.
Support LES Tuition Assistance
Gifts made through this page support Lesley Ellis Tuition Assistance. Families and friends who wish to support Nick’s run may make a gift here. Participation is entirely optional.
There are many ways to support this effort.
Members of the Lesley Ellis community are welcome to cheer Nick on at race day, create a poster or note of encouragement, or simply check in and ask how his training is going when you see him around school.
With Gratitude
This charity bib opportunity was generously extended to Lesley Ellis School through the support of Lesley Ellis parent Matt West and his connection to the Boston Marathon. We are deeply grateful for his generosity and for the community spirit it reflects.
